Impacts

  • City of Hialeah is one of the largest cities in the United States, with 19.7% of families living below the poverty line

  • Kick It Miami was launched with the local community, using sport as a vehicle to create new opportunities that help children learn and develop

Programme outline

The programme provides 45 boys and girls aged 7 to 12 with access to a sports and educational programme.

  • High quality soccer coaching delivered by J10 Fútbol Academy, founded by internationally renowned street soccer star Jason Jayzinho Quezada

  • Gives access for children with families of low income to participate in regular sport activities

  • In partnership with the Miami FC and the City of Hialeah Parks and Recreation
  • The coaches place an emphasis on teaching discipline and building social skills and children grow in the game individually and as a team

  • Training sessions twice a week, for a total of 9 months with life skills workshops that focus on nutrition, education on health and well-being, and motivational mentorship talks.
